Floam is a high-tech modeling substance that is made out of micro beads that stick together. It was first introduced in 1997 in a wheelchair cover that conformed to the person’s shape. Today, it’s used for a wide variety of products including mattresses, chair cushions and as a modeling substance for crafts and toys. The type of Floam I’m going to introduce you to today is a modeling substance for kids.
Not all parents subscribe to the notion of “tough love,“ which is used so extensively in many troubled teen programs. Some parents want their children close by and want to avoid placing their troubled teen into an environment that may build even more resentment and anger. For these parents and troubled teens, behavior modification programs are a good starting point. In behavior modification programs, appropriate behavior is reinforced and rewarded and inappropriate behavior is confronted and redirected, with consequences given.
Before they got together as Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool were merely three extraordinary hopefuls hoping and looking for their big break. The trio has no formal training and got their ‘practice’ from playing for free at punk clubs on Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Out on the streets is where the 3 talented individuals got their big break - they turned from punk rock’s most unlikely success story to a remarkable band with a series of chart-topping hits. Together, they sold more than 10 million albums and won a Grammy Award in the process. It’s been a long journey for the trio who started out singing out in the streets.
Teenagers and forums are normally a great mix (if they are correctly aimed at them). They provide teens with great resources, information and they can help build a better social life, their self-confidence and self-esteem.

Owner Jane Langdon started her internet business years ago catering to adults seeking floral perfumes & spice colognes not readily available in department stores. The business made a profit in the first year, which is highly unusual especially for an internet venture. She felt that teenagers should have their own fun fragrances & researched the market for scents that would appeal to them. After input from teens around the world the new line was launched in March. Orders have been brisk & comments from teens have been very positive. Word spreads quickly when they wear the new scents & their friends become customers too. Some order different scents for different moods. “I love the Baby Powder when I want a light scent & Tangerine for a fresh scent”, says a high school freshman in New York. Some will combine Musk & Patchouli for a heavy, lingering scent & others will wear Ocean & Fresh Cotton together. Men like Watermelon, Sandalwood, Ylang-Ylang & the five Feng-Shui scents ... Earth, Fire, Metal, Wood or Water.
I can’t remember how many times when I ask my friends exactly what the problem is, their reply would always be five to ten minutes of continual beating around the bush excuses, instead of explaining in two to three sentences what the problem really is. My father was the kind of guy who “tell it as it is.” There was no “well, maybe, unless, perhaps, or nearly, it was either a “yes” or a “no”. So even in my early childhood, I learned really fast to always be clear, objective, honest and straightforward with him or else I won’t get anywhere.

“Boys will be boys” and “Girls just do that” is what we hear from so many people. As a kid myself, I remember getting teased and no one came to help or told me what to do. And, you know what?
